NOW TV Box with VPN Router

Connecting NOW TV Box to VPN Router:

Unbox your NOW TV box and connect the supplied HDMI cable to a spare HDMI slot on your TV, then connect the power cable and power up the box, then go to network settings on Now TV box and select the VPN Router WiFi connection (e.g. UK-WIFI-1234) enter your VPN Router password (e.g. UKP123456) and press connect.

The latest model of the NOW TV Box also has a LAN port, this will allow you to connect an ethernet cable between the NOW TV Box and the VPN Router to establish a wired connection instead of WiFi if you wish.

 

 

Do I need a NOW TV account?

If you don’t have a NOW TV account you will need to create one before you can use the device, please visit www.nowtv.com to create your free account.

Even if you only intend to access free content you will need to assign a UK registered credit/debit card to your NOW TV Box when you first switch it on. Whilst the card will not be charged, NOW TV insists on this for security validation.  Some customers have informed us that they simply used a friend/family card details whilst others have signed up to virtual prepaid credit card providers such as www.entropay.com which are non geographic and supplied instantly to you via email.

Once your card has been assigned if you do not want to subscribe to any of the Sky TV packages then we recommend you choose one of the free 30-day trial packages in order to register. Before your trial expires login to www.nowtv.com to cancel your free trial to avoid being charged by NOW TV.

 

How To Disable Network Pings on the NOW TV Box

This video shows you how to disable network pings on your NOW TV Box. We only recommend trying this if you're experiencing difficulty in connecting your box to your WiFi router or seeing Error Code 014.

Here are the steps shown in the video...

  • Press these buttons quickly on your remote control:
    • Home x5
    • Fast Forward x1
    • Play x1
    • Rewind x1
    • Play x1
    • Fast Forward x1
  • This will take you to the Platform Secret Screen.
    • If you have a black NOW TV Box, select Systems Operations Menu and then Disable Network Pings.
    • If you have a white NOW TV Box, just select Disable Network Pings.
  • Press ← on your NOW TV remote until you reach the Connection Setup screen, and try connecting to your network again.

If the steps don't work, please reset your NOW TV Box, then try to connect to your wireless network again.
