Can I still use my own ISP along with the proxy server?
Posted by Mike Clarke on 20 November 2012 02:56 PM

For better performance, use one browser when you are using the proxy server and an alternative browser for normal ISP use.  As an example we suggest setting up your proxy server account in Internet Explorer, and then use Firefox for your normal browsing with your default ISP (i.e. non proxy settings).  Please note that some downloadable players such as BBC iPlayer and Demand FIVE take your IP settings from Internet Explorer at the point of installation.

I highly recommend that you do as the article advises. Works a treat for me using IE for proxy surfing and Firefox for normal stuff.

Or, if you prefer to use Firefox for everything then, you can get the foxyproxy plugin which allows you to configure which sites to use your proxy with dynamically.
